🇺🇸 Charlie Dalin, untouchable, will see his northern rival Boris Herrmann arrive after him, with an advantage over the southerners thanks to his option. Runaway race leader, Charlie Dalin, skipper of MACIF Santé Prévoyance will soon be closer to the Les Sables d’Olonne finish line than second place Jérémie Beyou (Charal) is to him. 13:00 – Das Bild sagt mehr als 1000 Worte 🙂 „Die Würfel sind gefallen“ schreibt Rochen Rieker („Flieg, Boris, fliiiieeeeg!“) auf Yacht.de und Carsten Kemmling („Die Aufholjagd hat begonnen“) ist verstummt. 🙂
16:00 – Nur noch 158 sm und Charlie hat einen grandiosen Sieg errungen. Boris liegt 300 sm zurück !
Auf dem langen Schlag hat Charlie noch einmals ordentlich Gas gegeben und ist fast genauso schnell wie Boris, obwohl der Wind für Boris eher achterlich kommt.
18:00 – Charlie segelt höher am Wind als Boris, ist aber in der Lage, den Abstand zu vergrössern, da ihm ein zwei Knoten stärkerer Wind zugute kommt.Von einer „Aufholjagd“ kann also keine Rede sein 🙂

In Les Sables d’Olonne the champagne is on ice for Charlie Dalin. The skipper of MACIF Santé Prévoyance is expected to finish first on the New York Vendée Les Sables d’Olonne solo Transatlantic race during Saturday night between 2300hrs and 0200hrs local time.
He will then have to wait until there is enough water in the famous Channel of Les Sables d’Olonne before enjoying the perfect Sunday morning arrival: around 0900hrs local time, no doubt accompanied the first warmth of summer sunshine, the smell of fresh bread and croissants wafting from the La Chaume boulangeries and cafes.
